Prayut says govt to go ahead with garbage-fuelled power plant project

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Friday night that his government will soon go ahead with the pilot project to generate electricity from garbage.

Speaking during his weekly TV programme, he said the project would create a better environment for the public.

"It is an urgent project that needs immediate implementation. It will promote the filtering of garbage, which would in turn lead to a greater recycling ratio. We are also working to quickly eliminate garbage which has been left abandoned in many locations, especially in community areas," Prayut said.
